Where Do My Readers Come From?

Monday Musings

Well here goes nothing. It is Monday and I am trying to get back into kind of a normal schedule and do some daily writing about different things. But, as is usually my problem I am having a hard time narrowing down my subject matter. But, I think that today I would like to talk about the latest Batman movie.

I don't judge movies by the same criteria that I used too, I used to have a pretty smug attitude about movies and about my opinions of them. I am not sure if that was because I was working as a projectionist and had a pipedream that I was going to go to film school and be some sort of big shot director. Well, that didn't happen and now I watch movies and enjoy them for different reasons. I really just judge them by two different criteria.

1: What did it cost me to see the movie? 2: Did I enjoy the movie?

So I went to see 'Batman: The Dark Knight Rises' yesterday morning and it cost me $5 and really for $5 I will see pretty much anything except for the 'Saw' genre films. I think those types of films, 'Torture Porn' are uninteresting and have no place in cinema. That being said, other then those I will give most films a chance if they are going to cost me so little to see as far as money goes. But, even with the cost being so cheap I do not always enjoy those films.

But I found Batman to be amazing. I just really had a good time at the movies and for me that is really a big part of the whole experience for me. I will probably see this film again and pay more then $5 if that is what I have to pay to see it. I highly recommend it. If you are looking for a good summertime escapist film then you could do far worse then going to see 'The Dark Knight Rises'. It is a really, really fun and exciting film.

Also, full disclosure, I think I fell in love with Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle AKA Catwoman. She really was amazing. So do yourself a favor and go watch this movie.

I'm Back

Hey everybody, I am back. I know it has been awhile but seeing as how I am in between contracts at work right now I thought I would start writing again. I am not sure what form this is going to take. I have a feeling that it is going to be mainly music and film review stuff along with a smattering of political commentary thrown in.

I hope the few readers that I may have left find it enjoyable and I hope I can pick up a few more along the way. To that end as I shall leave you with this little musical number by a band that I recently discovered. They are a neo-bluegrass book out of Minnesota called Trampled by Turtles. I hope you enjoy it.
